ARTIST LACEY MICHELLE

Greetings, my name is Lacey and I’m an artist who is fascinated by all things strange and unconventional!

I believe that boundaries should not confine art. Art should be celebrated for what it is and for what the artist creates. It's crucial in my life, no matter what genre it may be. I often find it allows me to express myself in ways that words can't describe.

My canvas is many things, such as creepy-cute art dolls, abstract paintings, and creating designer toys. I use a lot of different mediums and tools. I love the freedom of creating whatever comes into my head, with no restrictions on theme or size.

I constantly explore new designs and techniques that inspire me, which keeps my mind thinking outside the (canvas) box. All of my art pieces are unique, and I put my heart and soul into each one of them.

As a brain tumor survivor, creating art has been a therapeutic outlet for me. It has allowed me to express my emotions and reflect on my experiences. My art is a reminder of the strength and resilience of the human spirit, and I hope it inspires others to find their own creative outlets.

Art has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I've been creating different forms of art professionally since 2009. Would you be interested in exploring some of the art styles I've pursued over the years and still continue to practice?

  1. Abstract Paintings: I paint abstract paintings, which are a reflection of my emotions and experiences. My goal is to evoke similar emotions in those who view my work. Each painting is visually stimulating and thought-provoking, with vibrant colors, textures, and shapes.

  2. Oddly Sweet Dolls: which are a fusion of the macabre and cute. These dolls are my unique take on the traditional doll-making art form, and each one is a reflection of my imagination and creativity. Each doll is sculpted by hand.

  3. Reborn Baby Dolls: I create hauntingly beautiful reborn baby dolls by careful painting and sculpting them to look like Victorian Gothic vampires, zombies, and other supernatural creatures. Each doll is meticulously crafted to evoke a sense of eerie fascination and beauty. My dolls are truly one-of-a-kind pieces that are sure to captivate anyone who loves the macabre and unusual.

  4. Designer Toys: Finally, I create designer toys that are inspired by pop culture and my own experiences. These toys are a fusion of art and play, and I love exploring new designs and techniques that inspire me.

As an artist, I'm always striving to learn new techniques and expand my creative horizons. I believe that the process of creating art is a never-ending journey, and I'm always excited to try out new mediums, tools, and approaches to bring my vision to life. I find that exploring new techniques allows me to push the boundaries of what I thought was possible and continue to evolve as an artist.

Creating art pieces is a rewarding experience for me personally, and my hope is for others to find happiness through making beautiful things too! I believe that art is for everyone, and I want to encourage and inspire others to tap into their own creativity.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about my art and my journey. If you are interested in purchasing any of my pieces or commissioning a custom piece, please don't hesitate to contact me.

We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.

BRAIN TUMOR SURVIVOR

I'm a seven-year brain tumor survivor and single mother of three boys.

My journey started at 27 weeks while pregnant with my third son. I had a partial-onset seizure at home. My MRI showed a small bleed in my brain, and so began a long and scary road during my pregnancy. In the end, I could carry my healthy son to full term. Thanks to my incredible medical team and the help from my family.

Within 24 hours after my c-section, my MRI with contrast showed my brain tumor. Three months after delivering my son, I underwent brain surgery to remove it. Thankfully it ended up being benign meningioma or pilocytic astrocytoma (My doctors couldn't make up their minds).

It's been nearly seven years since my brain tumor was successfully removed, and while the journey hasn't been easy, it has been a journey of healing. Every year has brought its own challenges, but also moments of triumph and growth.

Now, I'm ready to share my story with others, in the hopes that it might inspire and encourage anyone who is facing their own struggles. Whether you're a survivor, a caregiver, or simply looking for hope, I hope my journey can offer some light along the way.
